When your business advertises with a broadcast station, your commercial airs on every cable, every satellite, and every antenna that is tuned to that station. Thusly, advertising on broadcast means your commercial is available to 100% of the market. Broadcast television is also free over-the-air with an antenna. A good agency can typically get these commercials down to 1 or 2 cents per view.
Typically broadcast stations cover any investment an agency would require. So you get an advertising agency dedicated to communicating with your station partners at no extra charge. This means that if your commercial is on Dish, it is NOT also airing on Comcast unless you also buy it on Comcast. Expect to invest about 16 cents per view with cable/satellite.
Connected television is the newest form of viewing television and gains more viewers every day. Common devices that serve connected tv viewing include Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast, modern video game systems, and others. Also known as OTT (over-the-top), this type of television watching puts viewers in charge of what they watch, when they watch, and how they watch. OTT targeted commercials run in most of the applications seen on connected devices, and run around 4 cents per view.
